Jonas Wall – Musician, Composer & Producer

With over 30 years of experience as a freelance musician, Jonas Wall is a genre-defying artist with deep roots in jazz, funk, soul, pop, and improvised music. A master of woodwinds—including saxophones, clarinets, and flutes—Jonas is also fluent on instruments like tuba and drums, and frequently incorporates hip-hop-inspired sampling and programming into his creative output. His unique ability to move seamlessly across musical styles has made him a sought-after collaborator in both live and studio settings.

Jonas grew up in a home where traditional jazz was as natural as everyday conversation, and that early exposure laid the foundation for a lifelong journey in music. Over the years, he has developed a distinctive voice as a musician and composer, weaving together diverse musical worlds into a cohesive and personal expression.

He has released five albums under his own name and has contributed to countless others as a woodwind player, arranger, composer, producer, and mixer. In addition to leading his own projects—Jonas Wall Umbaji, Beatstrumentals, and Filter—he is a long-standing member of Nils Landgren Funk Unit and the Icelandic fusion band Mezzoforte. Jonas also performs regularly with other ensembles, including the popular Allsång på Skansen orchestra.
